TPG The Project Group specialists have a wealth of experience. Since 1998 we have advised many hundreds of medium-sized and large enterprises across all industries and continents with one goal – improving project and portfolio management (PPM).
We have over 20 years of experience in project management consulting and implementing enterprise-wide project management solutions based on Microsoft, Planisware and other technologies.
When will we get to know each other?
Our projects for implementing a project portfolio management solution start with a comprehensive consulting phase. While you gain a good overview and some deeper insights into the future tool, our specialists analyze your current environment, your processes and existing tools, and start compiling a high level solution design for your requirements.
A series of onsite workshops to discuss your exact organizational goals and requirements addresses all the details needed for the setup and configuration of the new solution. Together with representatives from your management, key stakeholders and project team, we help you identify any possible issues, risks, process improvements as well as technology and infrastructural needs. The new PPM environment will be described under a number of aspects:
Improving project and portfolio management means a change regarding people, processes and tools. Every change can cause conflict situations that delay the adoption of a tool or process. As an outside expert, we can help in these situations with real-world industry knowledge and best practice approaches to guide your teams in the direction that will help everyone meet the long-term organizational goals.
People may experience doubts, resistance or disagreements concerning the project management environment – and together we can work on reducing these or at least minimizing their impact. This helps reduce any unnecessary risk to the success of the project and ensure early adoption.
Once all the objectives and next steps are clear and agreed, we will start with the implementation of your Microsoft Project Server / Project Online solution.
Microsoft PPM and Planisware both offer a great set of functionality and the flexibility to adapt to many process models, industries and customer sizes. The open architecture in combination with powerful APIs allows for integration to any third party system as ERP, HR, Payroll or skills databases.
For almost all aspects of the Project Server solution TPG has best practice recommendations, preconfigured solutions or even a fully configured PPM environment for your quick and secure start.
From the experience of around 1,000 implementations at customers of all sizes and very different business models, TPG consultants have built a solution library to answer your requirements in a short time and with the least effort possible. The range of solutions stretches from simple configuration templates for time sheets and security settings over best practice views in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server to powerful enhancements, such as multi-currency usage with on-the-fly recalculations.
“Even during the run-up to the project, the people from TPG acted like advisers, not like salespeople. We found that very positive. The intensive evaluation discussions at the beginning ensured that the result of the project was on target and the best possible solution for our needs.”
