Process Consulting for Project Management – Set the Foundation for Greater Efficiency and Transparency

For over 20 years, TPG The Project Group has been gathering solid knowledge in project management methods and processes. Our process consulting will support you in defining and establishing consistent project management processes and standards.

These processes and standards will be supported by a subsequent tool implementation based on Microsoft Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) with Project Server / Project Online. The final PPM solution will support your entire project life cycle.

Phase I: Building Project Management Know-How

To establish project management within the organisation, it is important to involve the relevant stakeholders and to provide a solid base of project management knowledge and methodology. This will be achieved by two different trainings: one covering the general PM methodology aspects and a second practice-oriented training delivering best practice know-how for project managers’ day-to-day work.

    Training 1: Project Management Basics

    • 2-day TPG methodology training covering general project management topics following PMI® (Project Management Institute) standards including exercises
    • Participants: project team members and project managers
    • Prerequisites: none
    • No. of attendees: max. 10


    Training 2: Project Management in Practice

    • 2-day TPG practice training with hands-on exercises, case studies, teamwork tasks and simulations
    • Participants: project managers who need best practice advice and tips for their day-to-day project management
    • Prerequisites: TPG methodology training Project Management Basics (Training 1)
    • No. of attendees: min. 3, max. 8

    Phase II: Project Management Process Consulting

    After delivering the Project Management Basics training and achieving a shared understanding of PM basics, it is necessary for us to establish a standardized project management process landscape within your organization.

    The main points to achieve are:

    • Analysis of existing processes
    • Optimization of existing processes and definition of new ones, aiming to describe a holistic project life cycle – from the initial project idea to its closure and archiving
    • Standardized wording and templates
    • Shared consistent understanding of Project Management

    The process design approach follows a generic process model based on the industry-wide standard of PMBoK (Project Management Body of Knowledge of PMI).
