Unclear about your resource utilisation? Tired of constantly chasing down information and juggling Excel or Smartsheets? Then it's time to discover TPG ProjectPowerPack and regain full control over your projects and resources.
TPG’s next-generation project management software delivers integrated project and portfolio management (PPM) - within your Microsoft 365 environment.
With over 27 years of project management expertise built into its modular design, TPG ProjectPowerPack includes best-practice approaches. Your PMO, project managers, and other stakeholders will benefit from a streamlined project and portfolio management experience in the Microsoft Cloud.
Note: Microsoft is no longer developing Project Online and recommends upgrading to the Power Platform as soon as possible. That’s why TPG ProjectPowerPack is the modern successor to Project Online.
TPG ProjectPowerPack consolidates your project, portfolio, resource, and task information into a single, accessible view within Microsoft 365. This ensures that your stakeholders – from project managers to executives – have access to up to date, accurate and consistent data, facilitating informed decision-making and streamlined project execution.
At the heart of this next-generation PPM app is a collection of proven best-practice approaches supporting project, portfolio, resource, and task management. These can be combined with your preferred scheduling tool – including Microsoft Planner Premium (formerly Project for the Web), TPG Scheduler, Microsoft Project with Project Online, Jira, Azure DevOps, Primavera P6 and more.
Here’s what you gain from using our PPM Product in the Microsoft Cloud:
TPG ProjectPowerPack works with Microsoft Planner Premium (formerly Project for the Web), Project Online with Project Desktop and or TPG Scheduler to meet your scheduling needs.
Your Challenges | The TPG ProjectPowerPack Advantage
Multiple apps disrupt your workflow. | Your PPM app: Your project data in a central location with an app that enables you to work across your portfolios, programs and projects. Work with embedded best-practice approaches, including workflows, document storage, time tracking, and more! Fully integrated and expandable as you change.
No central data source with historical tracking leads to inconsistencies and sub-optimal decision-making. | Centralised project data: All your project data resides centrally in your Microsoft 365 environment – enabling you to have visibility across your portfolio to make informed decisions. Snapshots provide historic insights and trend analysis with Microsoft Copilot.
Lack of transparency and time-consuming, error-prone manual reporting makes oversight challenging. | Your PPM reporting app: 40+ reports covering project status, resource utilisation, and portfolio performance enables KPI-based management – with options to incorporate data from other line of business systems.
Complicated apps and poor user experience stifle adoption. | Intuitive usability: A modern user experience, including Microsoft Teams integration, supports user adoption and reduces onboarding effort.
Out-of-date and poor-quality data due to lack of integration | Multi-directional integration (ETL): Connectivity across your line of business apps including SAP, Jira, Azure DevOps, Primavera P6, Microsoft Planner. TPG Scheduler and other apps provides an “always-current” data foundation.
Rigid tools with no flexibility prevent scaling with changes in your PPM environment. | Flexible for future growth: Built on the Microsoft Power Platform means you can configure and implement custom capabilities enabling you to be future ready when new capabilities appear.
Lack of transparency of cross-project dependencies leads to conflicts. | Cross-project visibility: In multi-project and program management, dependencies between tasks and projects are visible in schedules, supporting proactive change communication.
Task planning and delegation between project leads and team members causes friction. | Task-Activity Linking: Foster collaboration in planning and tracking by directly linking Kanban board tasks to Gantt chart activities.
Lack of cross-project resource visibility leads to over- or underutilisation of staff. | Central resource pool: Understand who is working on what, when, across your portfolio and make informed decisions about resource management.
Exporting data from your current toolset. | Future-proof data availability: Your data is stored securely in Dataverse in your Microsoft 365 environment. Meaning the data is yours to use and extract. |

Option 1 – TPG QuickStart: This approach provides the fastest way to get TPG ProjectPowerPack up and running. The app is deployed in your Microsoft 365 tenant and a base configuration with a defined scope is delivered. The configuration can be expanded later as needed.
Option 2 – Customised approach: The outcome of solution design workshops are implemented step by step. This may include new fields and tables, reports, workflows, views, and integration with other systems. We combine our best practices with your specific requirements to create a PPM tool that fits your organisation perfectly.
Onboarding for Maximum User Adoption: With both implementation approaches, we support you from the beginning with structured onboarding to ensure strong user adoption. A successful rollout requires more than just technical deployment—the system must be introduced holistically. All stakeholders need to be informed and engaged in a timely manner. In addition to tool-specific training, processes and methodologies must also be established to elevate your project management maturity. We offer support ranging from simple User Adoption measures to comprehensive consulting and change management services.
Different user roles— project managers, team members, and others—require specific licenses from both TPG and Microsoft. Contact us to clarify the details.

The app is ideal for any organisation aiming to maximise their ability to deliver projects successfully. If you're seeking to move away from spreadsheets and disconnected systems, TPG ProjectPowerPack offers a unified, streamlined solution. With its user-friendly interface, modern design, and flexible configuration and customisation options, it delivers a smooth and targeted entry into professional project and portfolio management. It also provides fast implementation and immediate access to key insights across your project landscape—such as a centralised project list, resource utilisation, and a comprehensive reporting package.
Project Online is based on SharePoint Online, and Microsoft has announced that SharePoint workflows will be retired in April 2026. After that, workflows can only be created using Power Automate. So why not start thinking now about a gradual migration? Many of the modern features available in TPG ProjectPowerPack—such as Kanban boards, task management, and stakeholder tracking—are difficult and costly to implement in SharePoint. With the Power Platform, these capabilities are easy to set up and are already included as standard in TPG ProjectPowerPack.
Yes, we offer a free, guided trial environment. You’ll have the opportunity to test the solution yourself, with one of our experts available alongside you as a coach to answer any questions in real time. The session typically lasts around four hours, giving you a solid understanding of the solution and immediate answers to your key questions. If you're interested, please use the contact form on our website.
Yes, TPG ProjectPowerPack enables resource planning in various ways. You can manage individual team members, skills, or generic resources. In addition, financial data—such as budgets, planned values, and actuals—can be planned and tracked at the project level.
TPG ProjectPowerPack is built on the Microsoft Power Platform and stores all data in Dataverse—within your own Microsoft 365 environment.
Assuming your organisation already has a Microsoft 365 environment in place and the relevant IT contacts are available, technical deployment can typically be completed in a single day. The duration of further configuration depends on the scope. With TPG QuickStart for ProjectPowerPack, a preconfigured setup is available to accelerate implementation.
Training requirements vary by user role. For the standard configuration, training for project managers usually takes 1/2 day per group. Team members typically receive either a video tutorial or a handout covering the key features. If the solution is customised, training content can be adapted accordingly.

Data Exchange / Integration
Yes, TPG ProjectPowerPack can be integrated with various systems—including SAP, Jira, and DevOps—using our proven TPG PSLink integration middleware.
Yes, TPG ProjectPowerPack is integrated with Microsoft Teams by default. A dedicated team or channel can be created for each project, with project documents managed directly in Teams. Additional project information, such as project status or schedules, can also be displayed within Teams. A separately licensed TPG ProjectPowerPack Team Member app for Microsoft Teams offers an overview of all upcoming tasks for team members and the project portfolio.
Since TPG ProjectPowerPack is built on the Power Platform, nearly all project-related data—such as projects, portfolios, programs, and resources—can be copied or imported manually from Excel. Lists can typically be imported directly, and MPP files (Microsoft Project) can also be imported.
Partially. Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) typically don’t include all the data required for a complete resource pool. However, basic data—such as start and end dates or employment levels—can be retrieved from AD, AAD, or other HR applications using our TPG PSLink integration solution.
Yes, this is possible through a custom solution. You’ll need to define which data from Outlook calendars—often maintained very differently by each employee—can be structured and transferred into the TPG ProjectPowerPack base calendar. For example, importing approved vacation days makes sense, so availability for project work is accurately reflected.
Depending on the available interfaces of your time tracking system, data exchange can be implemented—either one-way or bidirectionally—as part of a custom solution. It’s also important to define how updates with actual hours will affect related planning and calculations.
CONFIGURATION & Customization
Yes, during deployment, your company’s colours and logo are incorporated into TPG ProjectPowerPack to reflect your corporate branding.
Yes, Power Platform' offers extensive options for configuration, customisation and extension. You can tailor the data model, forms, and process steps to your needs. We’ve implemented client specific process solutions for many clients – including idea management or project request workflows. With training and knowledge building, you can perform these changes independently while ensuring compatibility with future updates.
Yes, TPG ProjectPowerPack supports easy configuration of currencies. The current version includes support for German, English, French, and Arabic. Each user can choose their preferred language, and additional languages can be added using customer-provided translations.
Yes, TPG ProjectPowerPack uses Microsoft Dynamics for its permissions model, allowing you to define and extend teams and security roles. You can also expand the data model, forms, and approval processes with minimal effort.
Yes, any existing project in the system can be saved as a template. You can also assign different feature sets to different templates—for example, some projects might require comprehensive risk management, while others only need a simple issue tracker.
TPG ProjectPowerPack comes with a comprehensive reporting package based on Power BI. It includes over 40 reports covering portfolio, project, resource management, and project requests.
Yes, the standard version of TPG ProjectPowerPack includes project request functionality with configurable forms and approval workflows. Dedicated idea management or pre-project phases can be added through custom extensions. Note: idea submissions can involve users who do not yet have licenses for TPG ProjectPowerPack or the Power Platform.
Yes, for example, project managers can only see the overall workload of team members outside their own projects, not what those team members are working on. This helps assess availability without exposing unnecessary details. Users with portfolio-level access can view detailed project data to help resolve resource conflicts.
Yes, each project manager can grant read or write access to specific users for their project. Access permissions are managed through the overarching role-based model.
Other Questions
TPG has actively developed TPG ProjectPowerPack since 2020 and releases a new version approximately every three months.
Yes, team leads can create separate projects dedicated solely to recording absences and non-project (line) activities. For comprehensive resource planning – including requests and approvals at the project level – TPG CoReSuite can also be used as a complementary solution.
Yes, the schedule allows differentiation through task type selection (fixed work, fixed duration, or fixed units). Additionally, the resource plan can display and adjust work by time unit, while the duration is displayed for reference. You can also choose whether to synchronise the schedule with the resource plan.
