Resource Optimization by “Drag & Drop”
TPG ResourcePlanning: Graphical Allocations in the Portfolio
TPG ResourcePlanning is a product for Microsoft Project
Server 2003. It enables you to graphically visualize and edit resource allocations in a project portfolio. The view displays one line per resource, with the allocation of tasks shown as bars. The height of the line corresponds to the workload of the resource. An overloaded resource is marked in red, making it easier to pinpoint and resolve.

Moving Resources Between Projects or Chronologically
You can distribute resources within projects and in project portfolios by simple “drag and drop”. Using your mouse, you can drag a resource to another task (vertically) or move the task and the resource along the time axis (horizontally). This enables you to quickly and easily optimize your staff’s workloads and keeps your resource peaks flat. The awkward toggling between different views in Microsoft Project is a thing of the past! And the Microsoft Project files affected by the change are synchronized in parallel.
Process Support for Better
Communication
TPG ResourcePlanning provides a coordination and approval process that enables the resource manager to communicate with staff or superiors within Microsoft Project. This is especially useful when generic resources are substituted with real people.
